Flexible catering options for winter 2020/2021

This coming winter, 2020/2021, promises to be a little different to previous seasons. To ensure our guests’ comfort and guarantee an experience that suits you, we have pivoted to now offer our guests varying food options. We now offer fully catered, self-catered or our new “flexi catered” service. Here we’ll go through all 3, and why they might be right for you…

Why choose a catered chalet holiday?

After a long and exhilarating day on the slopes, what could be more relaxing than coming home to an open log fire and slice of homemade cake in your own catered ski chalet? Here we spill the beans on why catered is such a great option…

Why Do the Cooking? Why slave over a hot stove?

Delicious food and wine are essential ingredients to any ski holiday, and our chalet chefs and hosts know their stuff. We know how ravenous a day on the slopes make us, so we make sure we take care of your appetite with healthy, tasty food that will keep you going every day.

Breakfast – we serve breakfast every day of your stay. Fresh bread from the local boulangerie, croissants, pain au chocolat, cereals, yoghurts, and a hot-option every day.

Happiness is a slice of cake – every afternoon we serve fresh home cooked cakes and biscuits for you to enjoy. Tea, coffee, herbal tea, hot chocolate and fruit squash are available all day.

Dinner – for 5 nights of your stay, we prepare a 4 course meal, all cooked from scratch, using fresh ingredients. We can also serve a high tea for younger children (normally under 12s), with simpler, child friendly favourites. We cater for all dietary requirements. Throughout dinner, we serve unlimited quality wines.

And the best bit - after dinner, on a catered chalet holiday, we take care of all the washing up and clearing up, while you sit back and chill.

Home from Home

We really want you to feel that you can make the chalet your own, together with your friends and family. Do you want to have breakfast in your pyjamas? Do it. Do you want to have a lie-in? No problem.

Just like home, you have a living room to relax in, a bedroom to escape to, but more importantly, you feel like you can unwind in a way you that just isn’t possible in a hotel. Little things like leaving your book on the coffee table, knowing it will be where you left it, or being able to have a cup of tea when you want one.

Don’t lift a finger

Whilst you are out enjoying the snow, your bedroom and bathroom will be cleaned daily, as well as all of the communal areas. If you have some laundry that needs doing, just let us know, and we will wash and dry it for you free of charge.

Why choose a self-catered holiday?

Self-catered gives you the flex to do what you want, when you want. We already have many chalets and apartments available on a self-catered basis, and this year we have added Chalet Orion and Chalet Chez Bobeau to our self-catered property portfolio.

Great value for money

Self-catered ski chalets are usually less expensive than their catered counterpart so are a great option for those looking for a more budget-friendly ski holiday, or the flexibility to eat out at local restaurants, or just looking to have some extra Euros! A lower initial payment means you have more time to save your spending money in the run-up to your holiday and can afford some more treats when you arrive.

The freedom of your own holiday schedule

Knowing that you can go anywhere at any time and build your own schedule is a great advantage of a self-catered ski holiday. It also enables you to sample the many dining options on offer in resort at your leisure.

Mix it up

On self-catered holidays, some evenings you can cook for yourself, on others you can sample local restaurants, have a raclette or fondue (these are available in many chalets), or why not arrange for pre-cooked food to be delivered to your door with our partner Bon Appetit.

A great range of facilities

Self-catered does not mean basic! Self-catered ski apartments and chalets have evolved in recent years, and can now offer all the facilities and luxuries you’d find in fully catered to ensure that no matter what you need, it will be taken care of. Many chalets have hot-tubs, fireplaces, Smart TVs to stream your favourite box sets and movies, Nespresso coffee machines, Molton Brown toiletries and fully fitted kitchens with dishwashers and washing machines as standard.

PureChalets provide a Welcome Hamper of goodies on arrival, with wine, crisps and biscuits as well as some basic cleaning products. And don’t worry about the towels and bedding. Your start and end of stay cleaning, as well as linen and towels, are all still included as standard on a PureChalets self-catered holiday.

Added extras, free of charge, at your request

Also many services are included, restaurant booking, ski lesson booking, discounted ski hire, booking babysitters – all done free of charge. All you need to do is ask!

Why not have the best of both worlds?

Although both catered and self-catered ski chalets have their own advantages, who says you can’t have the best of both worlds? Some days you may want to opt to self-cater and use it as an opportunity to explore the local restaurants , while on other days you may want a delicious catered dinner in your own chalet, prepared for you by your own private chef!

At PureChalets we can now offer our fully-catered dinner service for as many or as few days as you would like (from 1 to 4 nights) per week. Our hallmark PureChalets dinner includes 4 delicious courses (starter, main, dessert and a cheese board) with quality wines.

And it’s not just dinner times! With flexi catering you can really mix it up, and all your options are open. It’s possible to have your accommodation on a B&B basis, it’s possible for us to provide you with lunch only, or we can just do the cake in the afternoons and leave you to the rest of the meals. It’s your call and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen!
